Gilbert, AZ- As the 2016-2017 school year comes to a close, there are some unforgettable events that have come to shape us as Black Hawks. Staff and students alike have witnessed the triumphs and crises our school has faced. Now here we are, the last weeks before summer break as the seniors prepare for adulthood.

In the first semester of school, we welcomed the class of 2020 to our campus. Then in September, we bid farewell to our principal Dr. Wattawa. After fall break, our very own football team won state for the first time ever! On the performing arts side of things, our resident thespians performed the musical “Rock of Ages.”

After winter break, we introduced the incoming freshmen from Cooley Middle School to our campus at “Hanging With The Hawks.” Then, the thespians performed “Pride And Prejudice” in March. Right before the fourth quarter began, the Honors English 10 teachers had to re-plan their lessons after “Kite Runner” was pulled from the curriculum.

In short, this year at Williams Field has been a unique experience with firsts and lasts for the school body. This leaves us to anticipate what the next school year will bring.
